This technique is achieved by sprinkling small „migin“ mother of pearl particles into „roiro-urushi“ transparent black lacquer. After application of several layers of „roiro-nuri“ the surface is sprinkled with charcoal powder. After drying ground to release the abalone particles on a flat surface
